What you get
New revenue from data you already have.
Leading AI labs and frontier AI developers need real operating data. Provenance turns yours into a license, with no cost and no lift for your team.
New, high-margin revenue
Your tickets, workflows, documents and conversations already exist. Licensing them adds revenue with little incremental cost, without changing how you run the business.
Zero cost to you
No fee, no retainer, nothing upfront. Buyers pay our fee, and we disclose it to you in writing before you decide.
Zero lift for your team
We handle preparation, coordinate de-identification, run diligence and manage the contracting work. Your team approves scope and samples; we do the rest.
You keep ownership and control
Licenses are non-exclusive and scoped to the systems, years and uses you approve. You keep the data and can license it again.
Confidential from the first call
Everyone signs an NDA. Buyers see an anonymized summary first, and your name is shared only with buyers you approve.
Built to move quickly
We prepare, match and run diligence in parallel, so a focused dataset can reach buyer introductions without a long process. You get a realistic timeline after the first call.
The opportunity
Operating data has become a licensable asset.
AI developers have reached the limits of public and synthetic data. To train systems that do real work, they need the records of how real businesses run: the tickets, workflows, documents, conversations and decisions that build up over years of operation.
Leading AI labs and top AI research teams are now paying for that kind of data. Most companies, though, go to market with no process at all. They hear from one buyer, get one number, and sign that buyer’s paper.
The buyers have deal teams. Provenance makes sure you see your options and show up prepared.
Approach
From first call to signed license.
We do the legwork between your company and the buyers: finding the right fit, getting the data ready, and keeping the deal moving. Discreetly, and with every decision left to you.
-
01
Confidential assessment
Under NDA, we map your systems, years of history and data types, flag rights issues (customer contracts, vendor terms, employee data), and give you a candid view of whether there is a market and what drives value. If the data isn’t a fit, we tell you.
-
02
Preparation
We coordinate de-identification and structuring before anything is shared, remove anything out of scope, and assemble a diligence package: a data description, a sample, and documentation of rights and handling. You approve the sample before any buyer sees it.
-
03
Buyer matching
We compare what several leading AI buyers are looking for and introduce you, under NDA, to the best fits for your data. You see who is interested and what each offers, and you decide who goes further. For larger datasets we also run competitive processes.
-
04
Diligence and close
We coordinate diligence, help you check each license against the terms you have set, and stay with the deal until payment lands. The license covers only what you approved, and you keep ownership of your data.
Data
The records you already keep.
Buyers value depth, continuity and real decision-making over sheer volume. Years of history on the same systems, connected across tools, tend to be worth the most.
Operational records
Tickets and case histories, CRM activity, orders, dispatch logs, ERP and finance workflows.
Documents and knowledge
SOPs, playbooks, internal wikis, reports, templates and process documentation.
Communications
De-identified email and chat threads that show how work actually gets done.
Transcripts and call recordings
Sales, support and service calls, with speakers and personal details removed.
Workflow and process data
Approvals, handoffs, exceptions and the reasoning behind decisions.
Domain-specific media
Specialist text, images and video from industrial, technical, financial and professional settings.
Data you hold under a client’s confidentiality obligations, regulated data without a clear de-identification path, and anything your contracts don’t permit you to license. We work through this in the first conversation, not at the end.
Why Provenance
Clear about how this works.
Buyers pay our fee, so we are upfront about it. Here is what you can count on.
Fees disclosed in writing
You pay Provenance nothing. Buyers pay our fee, and we tell you in writing what each one pays us before you decide.
Confidential throughout
Buyers see an anonymized summary before they see your name. Nothing about the company is shared without your approval, and every party signs an NDA before diligence.
Privacy-first preparation
We coordinate de-identification and structuring before anything is shared, to a standard you approve. Customer PII is excluded, not just masked.
Terms worth insisting on
We help you insist on non-exclusive licenses, a clearly defined scope and permitted use, no onward resale without consent, and audit rights. Exclusivity, if offered, should be priced, time-limited and your choice.
More than one option
We know what different AI buyers are looking for, so you can compare fit, price and terms instead of taking the first offer.
For AI labs and data buyers
Enterprise data you can’t scrape or synthesize.
Provenance introduces prepared, rights-reviewed datasets from operating companies, in domains that are hard to reach through cold outreach.
-
Clear provenance
Documentation of who owns the data, what rights are being granted and how it was prepared.
-
Prepared data
De-identified, structured and sampled before you commit diligence time.
-
A seller ready to transact
Scope, approvals and decision-makers are aligned before the introduction.

FAQ
Questions owners ask first.
Anything else is best covered in a short call. papa@provenancedataadvisors.com
What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no fee, retainer or upfront cost for your company. Buyers pay our fee when they license your data, and we disclose it in writing before you decide. For larger datasets we also run competitive processes, and we will tell you if that would suit you better.
Will our customers’ or employees’ personal information be shared?
No. Customer PII is excluded from scope, and we coordinate the removal or replacement of personal details about employees and other individuals before anything is shared. You review and approve a de-identified sample before any buyer receives data, and we help you insist that the license prohibits any attempt to re-identify individuals.
Our data includes customer information. Can we still do this?
Often, yes, but it depends on your contracts. Some data you hold belongs, in practice, to your clients, and some agreements restrict how it can be used. We review those terms with you and your counsel at the start, and we scope out anything you don’t have the right to license. Internal operational data is often the cleanest place to begin.
How do you keep the process confidential?
Everyone signs an NDA, starting with us. Buyers first see an anonymized description of the dataset, not your company’s name. We share your identity only with buyers you approve, and only after they have signed.
Do we have to grant exclusivity?
No. Our default is a non-exclusive license, so you can license the same data again. Some buyers will pay more for exclusivity. If one does, we help you make sure it is narrow, time-limited and properly priced, and the decision is yours.
If buyers pay you, whose interests do you look after?
A match only works if both sides would do it again, so we bring you every option we think fits, tell you in writing what each buyer pays us, and leave every decision to you. We encourage you to have your own counsel review any license before you sign.
Do we give up ownership of our data?
No. You grant a license with a defined scope and permitted use; you do not sell the underlying asset. You keep your data and keep running your business on it exactly as before.
Who are the buyers?
Leading AI labs, frontier AI developers and the specialist data teams that supply them. We work with vetted buyers only, and you approve every introduction.
